To celebrate the completion of a multi-million dollar project, a client of mine asked if I could design and build a plaque display that could hold a 5\8" thick pipe sectional cut-off.
While my machine cut, I tried to keep up with the finishing aspect of the project.
It was tricky enough to make each individual piece but what I didn't expect was the amount of time sanding would take up. I estimate about 60 hours of sanding and that's being conservative about how long it takes from rough sanding at 120 grit to 220 grit paper.
It took so long to finish and many failed attempts but the client was very happy with the end product and best of all I was proud of myself for having completed such an intricate task.
